Alison Thirkettle Tawharu Awarded NAWIC Life Membership

NAWIC is proud to recognise one of our most dedicated and inspiring members, Alison Thirkettle Tawharu, with Life Membership — the highest honour our organisation can bestow.

Life Membership celebrates exceptional commitment, service, and the embodiment of NAWIC’s values over many years. It acknowledges those who quietly and consistently make a difference — the people who strengthen our community through their example.

Alison has been a devoted NAWIC member since 2015, serving as Wellington Chair and continuously living NAWIC’s values. Always the first to put her hand up, she supports events, school visits, and branch activities with warmth and wholehearted enthusiasm — never seeking recognition, always showing up. Her kindness, leadership, and ability to build meaningful connections have made her a cherished member of our NAWIC whānau.

By awarding Alison Life Membership, we honour not only her outstanding contribution and loyalty, but also the spirit of service and enthusiasm that lies at the heart of NAWIC. Alison truly exemplifies what it means to belong, lead, and inspire.
