What is your current title for work?

Senior Associate at RCP


How many years have you been in the construction industry:

I guess it would be 20 plus years with roles relating to the construction industry.


When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:

I have been in the project / construction management area of work since starting out as an administrator 20 years ago, since then I have continue to grow in the project management field. My current and previouse roles includes overseeing/being the client Project Manager on construction projects. I have a Bachelor of Applied Management majoring in Project Management.


What are you most passionate about?

Passionate about being involved in projects and developing collaborative working relationships and delivering some outstanding projects, I have been very lucky to be a part of some very cool projects over the years.


Why did you join NAWIC?

Always keen to be involved with getting more women involved in the Construction Industry and learning/sharing stories/knowledge. Proud to be part of the Otago Chapter.


What would you like to see for the future of women in construction?

That women in construction continues to grow, that women continue to grow in confidence in this field. Some of the projects teams I have been involved in have been very successful having the mix of men and women leading/delivering them by utilising everyone’s skills.


Words of wisdom or tips for women at the start of or considering a career in construction:

It is a great industry to be involved in, lots to learn, fun, so many opportunities available. Go for it!

What is your favourite thing to do for fun:

Favourite thing is definitely spending time with family and friends, I have recently started running again which I am enjoying.
