When did you start in construction?
2022
When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:
I completely switched up my life during COVID, taking a leap into a completely new industry. I saw an opportunity and thought, “why not?” It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I’ve learnt so much, met incredible people, and found a career that genuinely challenges and inspires me.
What are you most passionate about?
Storytelling. Capturing the people and the energy that make this industry what it is. I love showing the human side of construction and helping others see how much pride and purpose exists in what we do.
Why did you join NAWIC?
I joined NAWIC to connect with other women in the industry - to learn, share ideas, and support each other. It’s really empowering to be part of a community that celebrates women doing incredible things in construction, no matter their background or role.
What would you like to see for the future of women seeking a career in construction?
It's great to see more women stepping into construction, but it's just as important that we make the industry a genuinely safe and supportive place for them to stay. Equal rights, respect, and safety should be the standard and not a goal. Creating that foundation will open the door for even more women to thrive.
Words of wisdom or tips for women at the start of or considering a career in construction:
BACK YOURSELF! You absolutely belong here.
Don’t let stereotypes or doubt hold you back; there’s space for your perspective and your voice. There are so many jobs out there too that fall into the industry.
I mean, look at me - I'm a videographer and photographer that gets to climb buildings for a living and film the whole thing!
What is your favourite thing to do for fun?
Painting, singing, and hanging out with my family (cat included).
