When did you start working in construction?

1995

When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:

1995

What are you most passionate about?

At the heart of everything I do is my family, my whānau. They’re my motivation, my grounding, and my biggest supporters. In an industry that moves fast and demands a lot, it’s important to remember what truly matters — the people we come home to.

Why did you join NAWIC?

Construction isn’t just about concrete and machinery — it’s about people, purpose, and progress. As our industry continues to grow and evolve, so does the need for diverse voices and talents. I would like to be able to encourage more ladies stepping into this space — on the tools, in project teams, and in leadership roles.

What would you like to see for the future of women in construction?

The construction industry is evolving — and with that evolution comes the opportunity to reshape what leadership and skilled work look like. I believe in the strength of diversity and the value of having more wāhine on the tools, in project teams, and in management roles.

Seeing more women step into these spaces brings fresh perspectives, stronger collaboration, and a more inclusive culture. Whether you're just starting out or looking to grow into leadership, I'm committed to supporting that journey.

Let’s keep building a future where wāhine are not just present — but leading.

Words of wisdom or tips for women at the start of, or considering a career in  construction:

The construction industry has transformed dramatically over the years — driven by innovation, sustainability, and a renewed focus on people and communities. this is your chance to be part of that evolution. Whether it's adopting smarter technologies, improving safety standards, or building stronger partnerships, every step forward is a chance to shape the future of our industry.

This is your opportunity to be part of that journey. Together, we’re not just building roads and infrastructure — we’re building a legacy.

What is your favourite thing to do for fun:

In the midst of busy schedules and demanding projects, it's important to pause — to breathe, listen, and reconnect. Whether it's the rustle of leaves, the rhythm of waves, or birds singing at dusk or dawn, nature offers a quiet kind of wisdom. Taking time to relax and simply be in nature isn’t just refreshing, it's what keeps me sane.
