How many years have you been in the construction industry:

11 years

When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:

As a kid I was more likely outside building treehouses and creating stuff. I was always interested in things being built and a physics teacher introduced me to engineering which eventually lead me into project management.

What are you most passionate about?

I truly believe that construction is a place for everyone. We engineer and construct the world around us and by making it more inclusive to women we open the doors for more minorities to join the industry and shape a more inclusive world.

Why did you join NAWIC?

Connect with likeminded people and give back.

What would you like to see for the future of women in construction?

Women to be in roles throughout the industry at all levels so that younger girls and women have people to look up to.

Words of wisdom or tips for women at the start of or considering a career in construction:

Give it a try. Always remember, everyone has to start somewhere and no one knows how to do everything on their first day.

What is your favourite thing to do for fun:

Inside – build my Lego city

Outside – mountain biking

If I had unlimited leave and money – Travelling the world
