What is your current title for work?

EHS Business Partner – South Island

Your current organisation for work:

Fletcher Steel

How many years have you been in the construction industry:

2.5 years

When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:

It's an industry that has high risk to both the mental and physical health of workers, so I set my sights on a job in this industry during my university masters study.

What are you most passionate about?

Creating healthier workplaces in a holistic sense, rather than only putting ambulances at the bottom of cliffs with EAP services or stress leave.

Why did you join NAWIC?

I joined NAWIC for a sense of community and to be able to work with and in time empower more women to join.

What would you like to see for the future of women in construction?

Where women are given equal opportunity and see it as a (not just viable) but worthwhile career path from a young age with limitless options.

Words of wisdom or tips for women at the start of or considering a career in construction:

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, questions are one of the best ways to learn, grow and make connections because they start a conversation.

What is your favourite thing to do for fun:

Dance!! I like to be challenged physically and mentally. Dance gives me this as well as providing me with a fantastic bunch of people to spend time with.
