When did you start in the construction industry:

About 2017


When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:

I fell into the job. Being a farmer from Zimbabwe and new to the country, this was the opportunity that presented itself.


What are you most passionate about?

I am passionate about my family and my friends. I really enjoy a good hard days work and producing quality work that makes a difference to other people


My other passion is getting out on the trails – I completed my first ultramarathon in February 2021.

 

Why did you join NAWIC?

I was invited by my colleague in Auckland – the current Auckland Chair and wanted to get to know some dynamic women.


What would you like to see for the future of women in construction?

The continued growth of women in construction. It is wonderful to see some of these amazing women out there doing incredible stuff. 


Words of wisdom or tips for women at the start of or considering a career in construction:

Cherish and enjoy the good days, particularly while you are young, work hard and save a lot. Let the bad days go.


What is your favourite thing to do for fun:

Getting out on the trails. This country is beautiful!
