Quantity Surveyor
When did you start in the construction industry:
I began my journey in the construction industry in August 2012.
When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:
While studying Civil Engineering at university, I was introduced to the many roles involved in a construction project. I became particularly interested in Quantity Surveying and confirmed my passion for it during a summer internship at a QS consultancy.
That hands-on experience made everything click for me, and after completing my Master’s degree, I officially started my career in this field.
What are you most passionate about?
I'm passionate about trying new things and stepping out of my comfort zone. I enjoy connecting with people, building meaningful relationships, and learning from different perspectives. I'm also deeply curious about the human mind and enjoy exploring psychology and people’s inner worlds.
Why did you join NAWIC?
I joined NAWIC because I want to contribute to empowering women in the construction industry. It’s important to me to be part of a supportive community, and I’m excited to connect with women in diverse roles and backgrounds who share a passion for shaping the built environment.
What would you like to see for the future of women in construction?
I hope to see more women thriving in construction—feeling fulfilled in their roles, confident in their contributions, and supported by a strong professional network that extends beyond their own organisations. I also wish for greater visibility and leadership opportunities for women across all areas of the industry.
Words of wisdom or tips for women at the start of or considering a career in construction:
Believe in your value and the unique perspective you bring to a project team. Don’t be afraid to speak up, stay curious, and keep learning. Construction is a collaborative industry—when you work with integrity and focus on shared goals, you can make a meaningful impact.
What is your favourite thing to do for fun:
In my free time, I love reading books on psychology, philosophy, history, and anthropology.
I also enjoy solo swimming, travelling to experience new cultures, and playing board games with friends—it’s a great mix of fun, learning, and connection.
